Launching dari Google Chrome OS ini juga seakan menjadi sebuah tantangan balasan setelah Microsoft megeluarkan search engine Bing yang siap menyaingi Google.

Google Chrome OS adalah operating systema yang berbasis OPEN SOURCE yang sangat ringan dan ditargetkan untuk operating system Netbook. Netbook dengan operating system Google Chrome OS ini akan tersedia untuk pelanggan pada semester kedua tahun 2010. Google Chrome OS mengandalkan aspek kecepatan, keamanan dan kesederhanaan (simple), sehingga diharapkan dapat melakukan start up hanya dalam beberapa detik saja. Selain itu, pengguna diharapkan tidak akan lagi berhadapan dengan virus, malware dan security updates.
