Life is the matter of choices. To get what you want, you can choose a safe way with non-instant result, or with a quick way but risky.
One example is how we can earn money. A safe way is by applying for good jobs and get the salary once a week or month. Either, applying in good jobs is not easy in some developing countries.
A quick way but risky is by betting. For people who know about probability, they are aware if the probability to lose is higher than the probability to win. But if they win, their money will multiplied.

As I see it, you may choose betting as an alternative to a real job only if there is NOTHING left altogether. In all other cases it can hardly be treated as a job really worth having.
